A mother in Tampa, Florida, is said to have killed her young son in a vicious murder. On Wednesday, authorities in Polk County stated that 4-year-old Bryan Boyer suffered abuse from the hands of his mother.
“He’s face down, on the floor, and she’s beating him on the back, and he’s not even resisting it. It’s just like it’s a normal occurrence,” stated Sheriff Grady Judd.
36-year-old immigrant Patricia Saintizaire had come from Haiti with the child and had beaten and neglected him over a long period of time. She is said to have tied his arms behind his back and shoved him into a swimming pool.
Bryan’s 16-year-old brother, who was adopted from Haiti, saw that the four-year-old was lethargic and that something wasn’t right on May 1. He requested that his mother take the child to a medical facility. But, Saintizaire stated that the little boy was “just being dramatic.”
Later, Bryan was transported to a medical facility where he died. A report from the medical examiner’s office discovered evidence of abuse. This included bruises and injuries from previous beatings.
Saintizaire has been charged with first- degree murder, aggravated child abuse, and witness tampering.
Although she was supposed to appear in court for the first time on Wednesday, Saintizaire did not show up. She is now scheduled to make her first appearance in court on Thursday at 1 p.m.
During the time of the occurrence, the father was at work. The 16-year-old has now been placed in protective custody, and an investigation is continuing.
