A 67 year old man is in custody after striking a 14 year old female while she was jogging in Keller.
On April 4, around 6:30 p.m., officers responded to a scene regarding a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle. Upon arriving officers found a 14 year old female laying in the roadway unconscious. She was transported to Baylor Scott & White in Grapevine where she remains in critical condition.
The driver, 67 year old Michael Mango, stopped to render aid and remained on scene until officers arrived.
After further investigating officers learned that Mango was traveling down Bear Creek at a high speed and failed to stop at a crosswalk when he struck the pedestrian.
Mango was arrested for intoxication assault causing serious bodily injury.
