On Friday night, a man is said to have slammed into the back of a Dallas officer as a traffic diversion was taking place. He was then apprehended for driving under the influence.
Around 11:50 p.m., first responders were called to the 7000 block of Julius Schepps Freeway NB, in response to an accident involving two vehicles.
Police say that Jose Badillo Hernandez, 36, rear-ended a police cruiser vehicle as an officer was blocking a lane of traffic.
The officer was transported to a medical facility for precautionary measures.
Hernandez was taken into custody and is facing a charge of driving while intoxicated. He was placed in the Dallas County Jail on a $3,500 bond.
