42-year-old Nathan Lane, of Garland, Texas, has been sentenced to 45 years in prison after he was caught sexually assaulting a child as a recorded sleep study took place.
In July 2022, Lane took the 11-year-old girl to Plano for the diagnostic portion of the test.
As they were there, the cameras were rolling and captured Lane sexually assaulting the young girl.
Alert employees quickly contacted authorities who took Lane in to interview him, and an investigation started.
Lane confessed that he knew the study was being recorded. However, he believed that it was too dark for the camera to see what he was doing, police say.
He later confessed to sexually assaulting the girl on several occasions at home.
The 11-year-old girl also gave authorities more information regarding the abuse as she was interviewed at the Children’s Advocacy Center in Collin County.
A judge sentenced Lane to 45 years in prison after a jury found him guilty of continuous sexual abuse of a child. This is a first-degree felony.
Lane won’t be eligible for parole.
