20-year-old Jahi Palmer-Davis, a Louisiana State University student, has been arrested after he was accused of attempting to trade and sell child sexual abuse content on Instagram.

On Tuesday, Feb. 20, Palmer-Davis was taken into custody on two counts of pornography involving juveniles and two counts of unauthorized use of a wireless router system.

Arrest documents note that law enforcement started their investigation on Jan. 5, 2024, after Instagram alerted them that two recordings/pictures with child sexual abuse material of children under 13 years old had been posted a few days before by an account connected to Palmer-Davis.

He is accused of using his LSU email address to post the child sexual abuse material files.

After his Instagram account was reviewed, two pictures and a discussion between his account and other Instagram users about trading and selling recordings of child sexual material were found, authorities say.

They added that Palmer-Davis had a conversation with a user who had said that they were 14 years old. He sent that person recordings and told the minor where to go online to access explicit images.

Palmer-Davis was placed in the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.

An investigation is continuing.
