On Monday, an ex-middle school teacher pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting an eighth grader.

34-year-old Tyesha Bolden didn’t have to stand trial because she pleaded guilty to sexual assault of a student by school staff, intentionally selling a dangerous weapon to a child, and third-degree sexual assault.

Prosecutors stated that Bolden purchased a gun for the victim as a birthday gift. The inappropriate relationship is said to have started when the victim had been enrolled in her class as an eighth grade student.

Documents show that Bolden and the victim first became acquainted with each other in October 2022 at Pilgrim Lutheran School in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, when she was his teacher. Detectives say that between May and the end of July 2023, the pair had exchanged over 2,000 messages.

The boy disclosed to authorities that the relationship came to a halt when Bolden wouldn’t purchase another gun for him.

Bolden is set to appear in court again on March 1 for sentencing. She could receive over 40 years in prison.
