3-Year-Old Girl Dies After Mother Gets ‘Lost’ In Woods With Her On Cold Night After Doing Drugs

35-year-old Uriha Ridge is accused of taking her 3-year-old daughter and another child into the woods in sub-freezing temperatures. This was after she had been using drugs.

Now, Ridge has been charged with murder in the death of the 3-year-old.

On Wednesday, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office in Georgia stated that Ridge had taken drugs prior to wandering in the woods, close to Foxhall Resort in Douglasville. This occured at about midnight on Jan.16 as her 3-year-old daughter and 7-year-old child were with her.

The following morning, at about 11:51 a.m., Ridge called authorities for help. They then found her and her children in the woods, close to the resort, with the assistance of two employees.

Ridge told police that she had gotten “lost” in the woods. However, authorities say that her phone was fully charged and working when they located her.

Documents note that the children were “soaking wet” and had on very few clothes when they were found. It was added that temperatures had fallen below freezing overnight, and it had rained for over 11 hours.

All three people were taken to a medical facility where 3-year-old Alina died. The 7-year-old’s condition isn’t known.

Ridge has been charged with felony murder, two counts of first-degree cruelty to children, and two counts of second-degree cruelty to children.
