On January 25, 2024, at about 9:15 p.m., Dallas Police responded to a shooting call in the 1000 block of W. Wheatland Road.  The preliminary investigation determined when officers arrived, they found Joshua Porter, 18, shot, in a vehicle at the location. Porter died at the scene from his injury.

This investigation is ongoing and is documented on case number 013623-2024.
