17-Year-Old High School Football Star Found Dead A Day Before State Championship Game

A high school football player was discovered dead the day before his team was set to play in their first state championship game in over 25 years.

17-year-old Brandon Smith was found Sunday; however, information surrounding his death hasn’t been released.

Smith attended Manchester High School, in Manchester, Georgia, where he was a sophomore.

On Saturday, he had been reported missing, and by Sunday, a scene, where his body was found on a residential street, was being investigated.

For now, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Manchester police continue to work the case to determine exactly what occured.
