37-year-old Money Perkins died after he was shot multiple times while inside a laundromat in Brooklyn, New York, on Friday.
Authorities say that Perkins owned the laundromat.
The incident occured at about 5:45 p.m. on Clarendon Road in East Flatbrush. Perkins can be seen on video, cleaning the top of a machine as three men walked in and pointed guns at him. He lunged at one of the men and wrestled him to the ground as the other two robbers were standing nearby. A few moments later, a fourth attacker opened the door and shot Perkins. This was done as a gunman who was standing next to Perkins seemingly shoots him again.
As Perkins was laying on the ground, with blood surrounding him, the man he wrestled with then went after his neck. The other three men then left the store as the other man hit Perkins’s head against the floor several times. Afterwards, he snatched Perkins’s necklace off and left the location.
Perkins was transported to a medical facility but died from his injuries.
Authorities believe that the men targeted Perkins because of his chain.
No one has been apprehended at this time, and an investigation is on-going.
