Transgender Inmate In North Carolina Will Be Transported To Women’s Facility In August

The North Carolina Department Of Public Safety has decided to transfer a transgender inmate to an all women’s facility.
Kanautica Zayre Brown,37 was sentenced to 10 years at Harnett Correctional Institution for insurance fraud charges back in 2017 and says she does not feel safe.
She says she started her transition to become a woman back in 2012.
Brown put in a request to be moved after being housed with 30 plus men and feeling unsafe she was then transferred to Warren Correctional Institution where she has a personal cell.
Dps says Brown will be moved to an all women facility in August to serve her remaining time.
