Last week, 49-year-old Stacey Owens was sentenced to 50 years in prison. This was after he pled guilty to five counts of possession of child pornography.

In July 2022, Owens was apprehended after officers and detectives with the Rockwall, Texas, police department served a search warrant on his residence in Rockwall. The investigation had first begun in February of that year.

The National Center For Missing and Exploited Children had gotten information from Google that they had detected child pornography in a Google Gmail account. That information was sent to authorities who linked the Gmail account to Owens and his home on Valiant Drive. Owens was questioned as investigators searched his home.

After electronics were taken from his residence, over 14,000 files with child pornography were found.

Although none of the children resided in Rockwall County, all of the files contained a real child abuse victim.

The photos that were found showed small children, including babies, being painfully sexually assaulted. Messages expressing his desire to have sex with children, bestiality, and other paraphilic actions were also located.

Owens has a criminal record that involves sex and drug offenses. In 2002, he exposed himself to an undercover Dallas officer in a restroom at NorthPark Mall in Dallas. He received probation for that offense.

Then, in 2007, Owens was found guilty of unlawful possession of a controlled substance in Dallas county. He was given probation for that crime, as well.
