Over the weekend, a family from Romeoville, Illinois, was murdered.
On Wednesday, the search for the suspect in the killings came to an end . This was following a fiery crash on a highway in Oklahoma.
The family of four was fatally shot in their residence, and two persons of interest were named in the matter. Now, authorities say that those two persons of interest have died.
On Sunday evening, Alberto Rolon, 38, and Zoraida Bartolomei, 32, their two kids, and their three dogs were discovered deceased, They had been found after officers had gone to their home to perform a well-being check.
Multiple pieces of evidence were taken from the residence, including a computer server, on Monday morning. Authorities think that the shooting happened between 9 p.m. Saturday and 5 a.m. Sunday.
As investigators started working on the case, they named 32-year-old Nathaniel Huey Jr. and a woman close to him, as persons of interest.
Although many details haven’t been released, authorities say that there is a suspected motive, and that the assailant had a connection to the victims.
On Wednesday morning, authorities found the suspect vehicle and attempted to pull it over it in Catoosa, Oklahoma. The suspect sped away from officers, leading to a single car wreck of the suspect vehicle, causing the car to catch on fire. Shortly after that, officers heard noises that think were gunshots.
When they went to walk up to the car, they found a woman with a gunshot wound in critical condition. They then located a man with a gunshot injury who was deceased. The woman passenger was transported to a hospital where she died.
The deceased male driver is thought to be Huey Jr., police say.
An investigation into the death of the family of four is still continuing.
