30-year-old Jospeh Napier, of Florida, was apprehended Friday for the 2021 choking death of his infant daughter. This comes after detectives found that he put a baby wipe in her mouth.

Napier was taken into custody on Friday and charged with manslaughter. He is said to have caused the infant’s death “by shoving the baby wipe down her throat.”

On May 28, 2021, Napier called authorities and stated that his daughter was unresponsive and choking. The child was taken to a medical facility by first responders, but she later passed away.

Napier had stated that he left the 2-month-old and an 18-month-old child by themselves for 10 minutes. He added that the 18-month had put the baby wipe down the mouth of the 2-month-old.

After a review of his phone was done, it was found that Napier left the children alone for 30 minutes, not 10. Then, following the choking incident, he is said to have waited five minutes to call authorities.

It is reported that the infant had colic and had been crying.

Napier is in custody on a $750,000 bond. He is set to be arraigned on Oct. 19.
