16-year-old Tarrell Greene, a rising high school football star, is being charged as an adult in relation to a shooting. This occurred on Memorial Day, in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Two teens had been sent to the hospital.
The incident happened on May 29 in the 700 block of Seabreeze Blvd.
Arrest documents show that Greene was seen on camera shooting at the other teens in a parking lot. The recording depicted one of the victims coming up on a bicycle, coming close to Greene. He was moving away from him prior to Greene shooting him.
The second victim had been on a bicycle, as well. He was hit by a bullet in the chin when Greene had shot his weapon.
Both victims, 15 and 17 years old, were transported to a medical facility.
Greene was arrested a little while after the shooting. He is facing charges, including two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and one count possession of a firearm by a minor.
The teen appeared in court earlier this month after being held in custody for two months as the investigation ensued.
His lawyer stated that Greene has no criminal history, and the matter could affect his football career.
“He’s a very prominent football player and has offers to play football at the University of Miami, Alabama, and other schools,” his attorney expressed.
The judge decided that Greene would be held without bond as he waits for his trial to begin.
Greene had been ready to play football this fall at Plantation High School. His coaches were astonished to hear of the allegations. One of them noted that Greene had been defending himself.
