24-year-old Decorius Mire, of Beaumont, Texas, has been given an 18-month federal prison sentence for animal cruelty violations.

Mire had been accused of animal crushing and aiding and abetting in connection to an incident that occurred in October 2021.

According to federal criminal law, animal crushing is “conduct in which one or more living non-human mammals, birds, reptiles, or amphibians, is purposely crushed, burned, drowned, suffocated, impaled, or otherwise subjected to serious bodily injury.”

The U.S. Attorney’s Office had noted that Mire and a co-defendant saw a live domestic cat in a parking lot at an apartment complex in Beaumont in 2021. The unnamed co-defendant had kicked the cat, mimicking a football field goal after Mire had egged him on. The cat went up 15 to 20 feet into the air.

Mire had recorded the occurrence on his cell phone and uploaded it to social media. There, others expressed their opinion on the matter and even shared the video.

On September 28, 2022, Mire had been indicted by a grand jury under the Preventing Animal Cruelty and Torture Act.

  1. He also poured gas on it and lit on fire! I hope his fellow prisoners are cat lovers and take this POS off this planet.

  2. Today, I went to the beach with my kids.

I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4
year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She put the shell
to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear.
She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is entirely off topic but I had to tell someone!
