59-year-old Robert Centala was arrested and charged after he dropped a bag of cocaine at a Walmart store in Alpena County, Michigan. He had been in the self-checkout line when the incident occurred.
Centala has been charged with one count of possession of cocaine less than 25 grams. He now has a $2,500 cash bond.
On April 2, close to 5:20 p.m., a trooper was summoned to the Walmart location after receiving information about the plastic baggie that had a white powdery substance, later known to be cocaine, inside of it.
Recordings from inside of the store revealed Centala at the self-checkout line, buying certain items. As he went to get his wallet out of his pocket, the small baggie of cocaine fell out without him ever knowing.
The next day, Centala was questioned at his residence. Later, on May 1, an arrest warrant was issued.
Centala surrendered to authorities on May 2, and he is scheduled to appear in court later this month.
