The Detroit man who operated a weed vending machine attached to his residence for 4 years pleaded guilty to a gun charge.
Marcellus Cornwell was arrested on gun charges in 2022 after ATF agents executed a search warrant on his residence. According to the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms, authorities were made aware of a vending machine that was bolted to the side of Cornwell’s residence that dispensed marijuana to customers.
When the residence was searched, Cornwell, who has a felony record and is not allowed to own a gun, had ammunition and 18 firearms.
Cornwell, who admitted to making $2,000 a day from the vending machine, was never charged with a drug crime in the case.
On Tuesday, he pleaded guilty to the gun charge from 2022. He faces up to 10 years in prison.
