Texas Tax Preparer Sentenced To 27 Months In Prison For Falsifying Tax Returns

804views

On Thursday a Texas tax preparer was sentenced to 27 months in prison for falsifying information on her clients tax returns.

According to court records, Adela Cruz operated a tax business between 2014-2017 in Uvalde County. During that time Cruz claimed false credits, dependents and business profits or losses to help her clients get a larger refund.

The IRS said Cruz never signed the returns as a preparer but instead created fake taxpayer emails to conceal her involvement.

In 2015 and 2016 Cruz also claimed false credits on her personal tax return.

U.S. District Judge David Counts ordered Cruz to serve one year of supervised probation, in addition to her prison sentence. Cruz must also pay a $1,500 fine and $129,239 in restitution to the United States.

exclusive content I’ve either written myself
or outsourced but it appears a lot of it is popping it
up all over the web without my authorization. Do you know any solutions to help prevent content from
being ripped off? I’d truly appreciate it.
