3.2kviews

The Irving mother who admitted to killing her two young children was sentenced to life in prison on Wednesday.

In April of 2021, Madison McDonald was charged with two counts of Capital Murder after she smothered her daughters, 1-year-old Lillian Mae McDonald and 6-year-old Archer Hammond.

The 30-year-old mother gave the little girls a concoction of sedatives before she put them to bed and smothered them. She then contacted the Irving Police Department and told them what she’d done.

Despite her admittance, McDonald, who’d been previously diagnosed with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, pleaded not guilty by reasons of insanity.

Following her trial, which began on April 12, a jury found her guilty, and on Wednesday she was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
