Father Fatally Stabbed At Starbucks After Asking Man To Stop Vaping Close To His Young Daughter; Suspect Arrested
Paul Stanley Schmidt, 37, had been at a Starbucks with his fiancée and daughter when he was fatally stabbed. This came after the father is said to have asked the assailant to stop vaping.
Now, Inderdeep Singh Gosal, 32, is facing a charge of second-degree murder in relation to the offense. Schmidt had been killed while on the patio of the shop in Vancouver, B.C.
Authorities say that the disagreement between the two men, who didn’t know each other, led to the deadly incident on Sunday night.
“He was just trying to protect his daughter. I’m angry, and I’m sad,” stated the victim’s mother. She says that her son just wanted the man to stop vaping around his 3-year-old daughter.
The mother added that Schmidt had been outside with his daughter who had been in her stroller while his fiancée ordered beverages inside.
She added that her son’s fiancée watched the whole ordeal unfold, in shock.
Gosal was taken into custody without incident after the attack.
