A self-proclaimed teenage rapper is said to have made a video, boasting about killing a rival gang member in Lakeland, Florida.

19-year-old La’Darion Chandler is in custody without bond for first-degree murder, being found guilty of being a delinquent in possession of a firearm and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

“He’s not much of a rapper,” Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said. “But he’s a stupid rapper.”

The sheriff’s office noted that Chandler shot John McGee, 33, last December.

Detectives say that McGee was “mean mugging” the other gang members when he sustained a bullet wound to the back. Later, at a medical facility, they stated McGee wouldn’t take the medicine necessary to assist his body in healing. Additionally, he wouldn’t cooperate with investigators.

The sheriff noted that McGee desired to handle matters on his own and handle the person who shot him. However, he never got an opportunity to leave the hospital. McGee succumbed to his injuries 24 days later.

Reports indicate that Chandler had seven previous felony apprehensions and five misdemeanor apprehensions. He was first taken into custody at age 11 and placed in a Juvenile Detention facility on three various instances.

Most recently, Chandler served 12 months behind bars in a juvenile facility.

Then, only 32 days after being released, Chandler shot McGee.

Weeks following that, investigators apprehended Chandler for drawing a gun on someone in the same location of the shooting. That person he shot survived.

When investigators served the first-degree murder warrant, Chandler changed his whole demeanor.

“He started crying like a baby that lost his pacifier,” the sheriff said.

On Thursday, during a news conference, the sheriff’s office played a piece of the rap recording made by Chandler.

“N***a tried to run. I hit his back. Thought I shoot like a Mac. Dirt a** dead n****s knowing where to find me at.”
