Nurse Terminated After Being Caught On Video Slamming Newborn Into Bassinet

A nurse at a hospital in New York was terminated and is now facing an investigation. This comes after a father recorded his newborn son supposedly being slammed face first onto a bassinet.

Authorities say that the incident happened at Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip on Long Island. It isn’t certain what date it actually occurred on.

Sources report that Baby Nikko, was only two days old when he was administered antibiotics at the medical facility’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Fred Sinclair, the child’s father, started recording his newborn through curtains that weren’t fully drawn.

The video showed a nurse supposedly viciously flipping the baby from on his back to his stomach on the bassinet.

“I’m happy I was there. God sent me. If it wasn’t for God,…we would have never seen none of that happen. And that would have kept happening through the night, not only him, but the other babies, too,” the father noted.

Consuelo Saravia, Nikko’s mother, also spoke on the matter.

“It was heartbreaking. I couldn’t stop crying. I couldn’t even sleep.” She added that she told the nurse, “I don’t want you to touch my child! You just slammed him. She said, ‘Oh no, if you think I mishandled him or anything, I’m sorry.'”

The state department of health has said that they are taking the “disturbing allegation seriously, ” and is reviewing the matter.
