A suspect fleeing from police crashed into a building on Wednesday evening, causing it to collapse, leaving 1 dead and 5 others injured.
At 8:54 pm on Wednesday, Baltimore Police Officers spotted a stolen vehicle on the east side of the city and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The suspect in the vehicle fled from police, and in an attempt to get away, struck another vehicle on the road.
Both vehicles then crashed into a vacant building, causing it to collapse to the ground.
When emergency personnel arrived at the scene, they found a 54-year-old male buried under the rubble. Despite life-saving measures, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Authorities say the man who lost his life was a pedestrian on the scene at the time of the incident.
A total of five people, who were occupants of the vehicles involved, were transported to the hospital for treatment of their injuries.
There are no known arrests in the case as of yet.
