Bartender Charged For Overserving Man Who Killed Euless Investigator In DWI Wreck

836views

A bartender has been apprehended by Lake Worth, Texas, police after she is said to have overserved a man, who drunkenly killed a Euless, Texas, police officer and hurt his wife and two kids.

Authorities say that as they investigated the death, investigators found evidence that showed the suspect in Euless Detective Alex Cervantes’ death, Dylan Molina, was provided too much alcohol by 26-year-old Cala Richardson, a bartender at Fuzzy Tacos in Lake Worth.

Police added that Richardson’s TABC server’s license wasn’t valid when she served Molina.

Authorities say that Richardson turned herself into the Parker County Sheriff’s Office and was released on a $1,000 bond. She is facing a charge of sale to certain persons. This is a class A misdemeanor which could result in one year in jail and a $4,000 fine.

Police say that Molina ran a red light and hit Cervantes’ car broadside last November. When the crash occurred, Molina’s blood alcohol concentration was twice the legal limit.

On Jan. 30, Molina pled guilty and was punished to 15 years in prison.

The sale of alcohol to an intoxicated person isn’t permitted according to the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Code.

No other apprehensions are expected in the matter, authorities say, but TABC’s administrative investigation is continuing.
