This week, UTSA obtained some great information when star quarterback Frank Harris stated that he would be coming back for a seventh season after getting a new NIL deal.
Harris is returning for his seventh year.
“This is a very tough time. I talk a lot of time, I’m praying, I’m talking with my family. I just thinks it’s best for me to come back one more season at UTSA and lead them to the AAC. I’m excited for it. Definitely appreciate all the support from our fans. I love the city of San Antonio, and I wasn’t ready to leave yet. I love all the support, I love everybody on the city. I’m just blessed to be the quarterback at UTSA,” Harris said.
“Thank y’all once again. I’m back for my seventh year. Let’s go!” he added.
“Harris redshirted in his first season in 2017 and missed all of 2018 with an injury. Then, he was limited to four games the next season after suffering another season-ending injury. After both the redshirt and medical redshirt, he is eligible for a seventh season due to the COVID waiver granted to players by the NCAA,” ESPN noted.
Harris is the best player in the history of UTSA and has 34 school records. Because of his tenure there, it is unlikely that the record will be broken.
Harris completed 71 percent of his passes this year for 3,865 yards, 31 touchdowns and ran for 588 yards and nine TDs. This was as the Roadrunners, ranked No.25 in the College Football Playoff’s final rankings, are going to the Cure Bowl.
