Uber Driver Stabbed And Killed By Passenger Riding In Back Seat

A woman who worked as an Uber driver was fatally stabbed in a parking lot of a hotel in Harvey, LA. Authorities say that the suspect is a man who “just wanted to kill someone.”

Sheriff’s deputies stated that the woman was found at theTravelodge hotel at about 3 p.m., on Thursday.

54-year-old Yolanda Dillion was taken to a medical facility where she succumbed to her injuries.

Officials say that Brandon Jacobs, 29, had been a passenger in Dillion’s vehicle. She had been transporting him from somewhere in New Orleans to the hotel.

After being taken into custody a couple of hours after the stabbing, Jacobs confessed to the vicious attack. He stated that he just wanted to kill somebody.

“His confession basically stated that he woke up yesterday morning and decided he was going to kill someone. He decided that was going to be his day,” officials said.

Jacobs is said to have gotten an Uber ride earlier that day. He hadn’t thought about making the driver a victim, thinking he would have to have a ride back to the hotel. Thus, he ordered another Uber driver which Dillion accepted in the rideshare app.

When questioned about why he chose to kill her, Jacobs said, ‘I didn’t pick her. Uber picked her.’

A few minutes after Dillion had taken Jacobs back to the Travelodge, he stabbed her brutally.

“He was in the back seat. Stabbed her from behind. Exited the vehicle and just walked away casually.”

Jacobs is also accused of recording and uploading video of the deadly attack to Facebook. It has now been taken down.

Dillion had been employed as a NOPD budget analyst for 10 years.

Jacobs has been charged with second-degree murder, and an investigation is on-going.
