5 Dead, At Least 18 Injured After Gunman Walks Inside LGBTQ Nightclub And Opens Fire

A gunman opened fire at a Colorado Springs LGBTQ nightclub killing 5 and wounding 18 people late Saturday night.

The shooting took place at Club Q, when officers received calls around 11:57 p.m. regarding a shooting.

When they arrived they found patrons subduing the suspect, 22 year old Anderson Lee Aldrich, he was taken to an area hospital and treated for minor injuries. Once he is released from the hospital he will be taken into custody.

Officers also discovered several shooting victims. The names of the victims have not been released at this time.

It was said that the club was hosting a Drag Divas show that night before the gunman walked inside and opened fire.

Authorities are investigating and have not disclosed if this was a hate crime. This investigation remains ongoing and will be updated as it evolves.

Club Q posted on their Facebook page stating they are “devastated by the senseless attack on our community”. They express somber gratitude to their patrons by saying “we thank the quick reactions of heroic customers that subdued the gunman and ended this hate attack.”
