Kyrie Irving Donates $65K to Family of Shanquella Robinson Who Was Found Dead in Hotel Room While on Vacation
Kyrie Irving, NBA player for the Brooklyn Nets, donated over 50 grand to the GoFundMe dedicated to Shanquella Robinson.
Robinson, a 25-year-old woman from North Carolina, was found dead in her hotel room while vacationing in Mexico with friends. Family and friends of Robinson say the circumstances surrounding her death are mysterious and say there is foul play at hand.
Despite a video surfacing showing Robinson being physically attacked prior to her death, and the medical examiner’s report which states she suffered from a broken neck and cracked spine, the United States State Department says there is no clear evidence of foul play.
With hopes of gaining attention to the case and getting Justice for Shanquella, Shanquella’s sister created the GoFundMe.
The goal has been reached and continues to climb with supporters donating everywhere. However, the largest donation came from Kyrie Irving, who donated a total of $65,000.
NBA player Kemba Walker also donated $20,000 to the family.
Mexican authorities, as well as the FBI, are now currently investing the case as a homicide.
