Houston Kindergarten Teacher Charged After Dragging 5-Year-Old Girl Across the Classroom By Her Hair
A Houston I.S.D Elementary school teacher is facing felony charges after surveillance footage shows her dragging a 5-year-old girl by the hair across the classroom floor.
Jenny Dominguez, a bi-lingual kindergarten teacher at Katherine Smith Elementary, is accused of causing harm to 5-year-old Fany Castro after witnesses say the little girl didn’t throw a fork away.
According to court documents, the 44-year-old teacher told little Fany, “No seas chiflada” which translates into “Don’t be a brat” after she refused to throw it away.
The teacher then grabbed the 5-year-old by the arm and hair, causing her to lose her balance. Video footage then shows Ms. Dominguez drag Fany by her hair across the room to the garbage can.
Following an investigation by police, Dominguez was charged with injury to a child.
The little girl’s mother, Patricia Saldana, says her daughter’s arm was swollen and had marks on it, however, she is more worried about the emotional toll it will take on her.
