Sansom Park Officer Accidentally Shot In The Face During Active Shooter Training Course

An investigation is underway after an officer with the Sansom Police Department was shot in the face during an active shooter training course over the weekend.

According to reports the incident happened shortly after 2 p.m. Saturday at David Sellars Elementary School in Forest Hill.

The officer was supposedly shot with a live round during the training course and quickly transported to John Peter Smith hospital in critical condition.

The officer has been identified as Lina Mino and I said to be in stable condition.

It was said that the training course was put on by a third party provider and included several different agencies.

Everman Police Chief Craig Spencer said there was not suppose to be any live fire training going on.

The Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office along with the Texas Rangers are currently investigating the incident and said no one has been placed on administrative leave at this time.

The investigation remains ongoing.
