A former Miss Argentina and former Miss Puerto Rico have announced, on Instagram, that they are married.
In 2020, Mariana Valera and Fabiola Valentin got to know each other during the Miss Grand International competition that took place in Thailand. This came after both women had reached the pageant top 10, where they represented Argentina and Puerto Rico, respectively.
The two seemed to be getting more acquainted on social media, but the beauty queens had been privately dating the entire time.
The women both posted Instagram Reels, depicting various moments in their relationship like intimate walks on the beach, special cuddles, champagne drinking, and more. They also shared a proposal, containing gold and silver balloons. They were arranged to spell out, “Marry me?”
The primary portion of the post reveals the two next to the city courthouse in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The couple got married on October 28.
“After deciding to keep our relationship private, we opened the doors on a special day,” the caption noted in Spanish.
Supporters, celebrities, and others in the pageant world expressed their joy for the happy couple.
“Congratulations! MGI brought together a beautiful union,” wrote Ghanian singer and beauty queen Abena Akuaba. She won Miss Grand International 2020.
“Thanks for all love!” Varela wrote in response to all the support. “We are very happy and blessed.”
