29-year-old James Cody Sweetman has been arrested by San Antonio, Texas, police after claims that he shot a woman and tied up a teen because he was angry that he had been kicked out of their residence.

Sweetman has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and unlawful restraint after the Oct.4 shooting.

Arrest warrant documents note that Sweetman was angry because his girlfriend had broken things off with him, and she was in hiding.

He had been residing in her residence on the 100 block of Fuentes Alley. Authorities at the location stated that the 43-year-old mother of the former girlfriend didn’t want him there.

Documents show that Sweetman was moving out of the residence, and the former girlfriend’s brother, 17, had been assisting him.

During that time, Sweetman taped the teenager’s hands together and closed him up in a shed in the backyard.

The assailant then went inside of the home with a firearm and shot his former girlfriend’s mother in the stomach and hands.

The mother was transported to an area hospital with non life threatening injuries.

Officials at the scene said Sweetman fled the home before they could arrive but he was later arrested.

Court records show that Sweetman was placed in jail Wednesday on a $100,000 bond.
