Pro Fishermen Busted In Cheating Scandal During Tournament

A pair of fishermen have been accused of cheating in order to make their catch weigh more than what they actually were, and a recording seemingly shows proof of such.

Chase Cominsky and Jake Runyon, of Ohio, were apparently busted stuffing their walleye with weights and other materials. This was revealed on Friday as their fish were weighed and then opened up to show the truth, on Lake Erie.

Tourney officials began to pull out small metal balls from inside of the fish that Cominsky and Runyon had up for consideration. Some sources report that they were made of lead, but whatever the case, they apparently were stuffed in so that they would gain some extra poundage.

Additionally, some have accused the pair of placing slices of fish fillets in their catch, as well. This indicates that they must have  cut pieces of other fish and jammed them inside of the fish.

Reportedly, the two men were really the frontrunners in the tournament, called the Lake Erie Walleye Trail, in Cleveland’s Gordon Park. However, that was all in question when witnesses discovered what had happened.

People on the ground were visibly upset, yelling and demanding answers, and warning that authorities would be called. When questioned about the occurrence on camera, Runyon didn’t say a word.

The fishermen went on to win other contests in and around the location. But now, all the praises and prize money that they have gotten is being questioned.

“Disgusted guys and gals, I’m sorry for letting you down for so long. I’m glad I caught cheating taking place in your LEWT at the same time,” a statement on the official event page on Facebook read. It noted that the men were “straight-up cheaters.”
