A 22 year old man has been arrested and charged with fatally shooting his mother during an argument Wednesday morning in St. Louis.
Northwoods police responded to a shooting call around 10:45 a.m. on Edgewood Boulevard. Upon their arrival they found the victim, 50 year old Christy Martin, deceased inside the residence.
According to reports, Tony Martin Jr. was arguing with his mother Christy while they were putting groceries away.
Some time during the argument Christy touched her sons arm to turn him around and he shot her in the chest.
Emergency crews arrived to the scene and pronounced Christy dead at the scene. Her son Tony was also at the residence when officers arrived.
Authorities arrested Tony and also seized the weapon and a shell casing from the scene.
Tony was charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action. His bond was set at $250,000.
