Darren Waller, a tight end, and the Las Vegas Raiders have come up with an agreement on a three-year contract extension. It involves $51 million in new money.

Now, through a contract, Waller will be linked to the Raiders for the next five years and $66.25 million. He had two years remaining on a four-year, $29.8 million extension he signed in 2019. However, his guaranteed money had run out. Waller was going to receive $7 million in both of the next two seasons.

In 2019, Waller was first noted as a premier tight end. Then, he had 90 catches for 1,145 yards and three touchdowns. Later, in 2020, he had 107 catches for 1,196 yards and 11 touchdowns. Waller ranks second in the NFL among all tight ends in catches and yards.

Because of an ankle, knee, and a back injury, plus a postive COVID-19 dignosis, Waller only played in 11 games last season. On August 17, he went back to practice but was placed on the sidelines after injuring his hamstring.

On Wednesday, Waller signed with Drew Rosenhaus and Robert Bailey, then the new deal followed. Waller had been using Klutch Sports to represent him.
