Four suspects were arrested after robbing two guards at a Carrollton Bank of America and fleeing the scene.
Rayfiel Gill, 40, Lillie McCoy, 43, Katron Pittman, 17, and Gary Taylor Jr., 17, were located in Smith County. At the time of their arrest, in the vehicle, a duffel bag full of money was in plain sight.
Carrollton Police responded to multiple reports of gunshots outside of the Bank of America on Josey Lane and Beltline Road around 12 p.m. Thursday.
According to police, two guards in an armored truck, who were servicing an ATM, were robbed by armed suspects dressed in hoodies. The suspects then started shooting at the guards with three different weapons.
One of the guards was shot in the wrist and transported to the hospital for treatment.
The four suspects then lit their getaway vehicle on fire nearby and fled that scene in a different vehicle.
Authorities were able to collect information and provide a description of the current vehicle the suspects were believed to be in.
At around 2:45 p.m., a vehicle matching the description, traveling on I-20 was spotted by a Smith County Constable. A traffic stop was initiated and the four suspects were arrested without further incident.
They were extradited to Carrollton on Friday and each charged with aggravated robbery. Their bond was set at $1,000,000 each.
