On Tuesday, a civil lawsuit was filed in Los Angeles by a 22-year-old woman. This was on behalf of herself and her younger brother. They have accused comedians Tiffany Haddish and Aries Spears of sexually abusing them when they were underage.
The lawsuit accuses Haddish and Spears of grooming the then-minors and getting them to “film sexually explicit child pornography skits.”
Documents state that Haddish is a “longtime family friend,” and the two were introduced to the comedians through their mother.
“Haddish and Spears took advantage and stole the youth of a 7-year-old child and a 14-year-old child,” records state.
One of the accusers said that the entertainers coerced her into pretending to be engaged in oral sex for a recording in 2013. It also states that the young boy was pressured into being in a sexually suggestive recording in his underwear. That 2014 film included Haddish and Spears.
The film, “Through a Pedophile’s Eyes” was on the comedy video website Funny or Die and other places on the internet.
A representative for the company spoke out on the claims. “Funny or Die found this video absolutely disgusting and would never produce such content…”
Haddish’s lawyer has said that the plaintiffs’ mother has spread these rumors for years.
“Every attorney who has initially taken on her case…ultimately dropped the matter once it became clear that the claims were meritless… Now she has her adult daughter representing herself in this lawsuit. The two of them together will face the consequences of pursuing this frivolous action.”
Spears’ attorney, Debra Opri, said that the comedian “isn’t going to fall for any shakedown.”
Not only did the unidentified woman file the lawsuit this week, she and her brother are also requesting that the entertainers be charged criminally.
