Elon Musk, the world’s richest man, announced on Twitter that he plans on purchasing the world famous soccer club, Manchester United.
In a tweet posted on Tuesday, Musk said, “I’m buying Manchester United ur welcome”.
Based in England, Manchester United has become a global sensation. In addition to winning the European Cup 3 times, they were also the champions of England for a record-breaking 20 times.
The well-known soccer club is currently owned by the Glazers, an American family famously known for owning the NFL franchise Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Last year a British newspaper reported that the Glazers were willing to sell the club if they were offered at least $4.84 billion.
Aside from Musk’s post on Twitter there’s no further information at this time.
The Glazer family has not released any statements about the potential sale.
