A Child Protective Services employee has been fired after claims that she told a 14-year-old girl that she should try prostitution.

Keisha Bazley is a mother in Texas who has nine children. She contacted CPS to assist with her 14-year-old daughter who was running away and having issues in school.

“My daughter told me that the worker had been telling her she should do these things, so she decided to video her,” the mother stated.

The teen is being housed at a hotel, along with dozens of other kids in foster care in Harris County.

The recording reveals a conversation between the girl and the CPS employee who is said to have told the girl to be a prostitute.

“And giving her an incentive to do so, and almost a threat of not having her needs being met if she didn’t do what this woman very explicitly told her to do,” the family’s lawyer said.

“If me, the parent, was to do something like this to my child, I would be bashed. I would be called a horrible parent. I would lose my kids,” Bazley stated.

An official complaint with CPS has been filed by the mother. Jamie Masters, the agency’s commissioner, went to Houston from Austin, to personally apologize to Bazley.

“This should not happen to girls in their care. It should not happen. It’s unacceptable,” he said.

Texas Department of Family and Protective Services released a statement on the matter.

“DFPS is aware of the video and has taken action. The person in the video- who was employed as CPS support staff- was dismissed from her position on August 10. The safety and appropriateness with which children in care must be treated is our paramount concern. Nothing less will be tolerated.”
