Man Discovers 70-Year-Old Wife Mauled By Family Dog

A 70-year-old woman from Albertson, N.Y., died after being attacked by a family dog. Authorities described the scene as “horrific.”

The victim’s husband told authorities that when he got home on Wednesday, he discovered the pit bull dragging his wife through the backyard. Officers who had gone to the location say that the woman was “mutilated.”

The 7-year-old dog then turned on officers before one of them fatally shot it.

The woman was declared deceased on the scene.

The dog was said to have belonged to the couple’s son who had died a few weeks ago in a motorcycle wreck.

Authorities added that they had never received any previous calls in relation to the dog.
