On Saturday night, a man shot a gun inside of The Comedy Zone, in Charlotte, North Carolina. This came as a star of “The Office” was about to take the stage.
Close to 9 p.m., a suspect displayed a firearm as he entered the establishment in the 900 block of NC Music Factory Blvd.
Actor and comedian Craig Robinson was supposed to perform at 9:45 p.m. as a part of a several-night gig. He has been on t.v. and films, including “Hot Tub Time Machine” and “Brooklyn Nine-Nine.”
The suspect, Omar McCombs, 36, was apprehended early Saturday in relation to the incident. He has been charged with assault by pointing a gun, communicating threats, and discharging a firearm within enclosure to incite fear. He also faces charges of discharging a firearm in the city and possession of a firearm by a felon.
Witnesses told authorities that the man commanded that everyone exit the building in the AvidXchange Music Factory as he waved his gun. Close to 50 people were inside while many others were outside.
Police say everyone had exited prior to the suspect firing his weapon. No one was hurt during the occurrence.
Robinson posted a video to his Instagram Live and said that he was fine.
