Authorities are searching for suspects who boldly carried out a smash and grab robbery at a jewelry store in New Jersey.
The incident occurred Friday night, close to 7:45 p.m., at Virani Jewelers, on Oak Tree Road, in the city of Iselin.
As the store was about to close, about 8 armed suspects, with masks and gloves on, came behind an employee through the front entrance.
The armed men then made the workers get on the floor until they smashed several glass display cases, using hammers. They then stole all of the jewelry that those cases contained while pointing guns at employees. The incident was captured on store surveillance video.
The entire ordeal took less than a minute, and the suspects were gone before police could arrive on the scene.
Although officials haven’t confirmed, sources say that the suspects stole over $1 million in jewelry.
“The came in like they owned the store, they’re like, ‘Alright, everybody down,’ breaking stuff, filling up their bags, walking away like they had no worries in the world.”
An investigation is currently taking place.
