Prior to Monday night’s game 5, a man began to impersonate a guard for the Golden State Warriors, Klay Thompson. He did so by tricking security and shooting shots on the court.
The fake Klay Thompson, YouTube prankster Dawson Gurley, has been banned, forever, from the Chase Center.
“Banned bc I walked pass 5 layers of security guards (who willingly let me through security without asking for ID)… I also spent 10k on tickets which they are not refunding. Why should I be banned because their security is incompetent?” he questioned.
Gurley also posted the supposed letter, on Twitter, that bans him from the Warriors’ arena in San Francisco.
Warriors fans are very familiar with the fake Klay Thompson.
“Was it worth it to lose 10k on tickets and be banned for life? Absolutely. I was an NBA player for 10 minutes bro,” he tweeted.
In 2017, Steve Kerr, the Warrior’s coach, thought that the fake Klay Thompson was funny. “I thought it was the perfect metaphor for our conditioning level. I turned around and I was like, ‘Klay, did you have a few extra burgers?’ That was great. I love that guy.”
