A man who allegedly killed three men on a golf course at a country club could face the death penalty.
Georgia prosecutors are seeking the death penalty for Bryan Anthony Rhoden, 24. Rhoden is charged with 15 separate counts in the murder of the three men; including two different legal theories of murder, kidnapping, and aggravated assault.
Rhoden is accused of killing Eugene Siller, 46, Henry Valdez, 46, and Paul Pierson, 76, on July 3, 2021.
Initially Rhoden only intended on killing Valdez and Pierson, until Siller stumbled into the crime scene as well.
At a separate location from the murder, Rhoden bounded Valdez’s and Pierson’s arms, legs, and mouths with tape before he stealing Pierson’s truck and loading them inside.
He then drove to Georgia’s Pinetree Country Club and dragged the two victims onto the golf course. He then shot and killed both of them.
Prosecutors say during the slaying, the country club’s golf director, Siller, saw a truck parked in reverse in the sand trap and went to investigate.
As soon as Rhoden spotted Siller approaching, he shot him in the head and neck, killing him.
Rhoden, an aspiring musician, knew Valdez and Pierson on a personal level. Valdez reportedly owned a marijuana dispensary in California and worked with Rhoden. Pierson was a longtime associate to Valdez.
Neither Valdez nor Pierson had any ties to the country club. Authorities have not released a clear motive yet.
