A K-9 at Steele Police Department, in Steele, Alabama, worked with authorities to make a marijuana bust on Monday, May 9.

Authorities say that K9 Tara, a drug-sniffing dog, made a hit on a vehicle, close to 1:30 a.m. This occurred during a traffic stop, on 1-59, when cops pulled over a Toyota cargo van.

Police say nearly 250 pounds of marijuana was discovered in locked and moving boxes. Two men from North Carolina were then apprehended. They are facing drug trafficking charges.

Just after 5 a.m., Jacory Martin, 37, and Ron Banks, 42, of Charlotte, were placed in custody at the St. Clair County Jail. They both have a bond of $1.5 million each.
