Tarrant County Medical Examiner Publicly Names Three Victims Of Fatal Weekend Shootings

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office has named three victims that were a part of various shootings this past weekend. Two of the shootings were in Fort Worth.

On Saturday morning, close to 4 a.m., gunshots were heard in the 9100 block of Heron Drive. After Hutcheson Police Department first answered to the shooting, it was given over to Forth Worth police. At around 6:50 a.m., Fort Worth police arrived to the location and discovered someone deceased, close to the shore of a lake.

The medical examiner has noted that Carlos Cardenas, 33, suffered a deadly gunshot injury to the head. His death was determined to be a homicide.

Then, on Saturday evening, around 8 p.m., gunshots were also heard at 3828 Stallcup Road, at the Buttercup Place Apartments.

When officers arrived to the location, they discovered Dale Reed Jr., 28, suffering from gunshots wounds to the head and lower body. He was transported to a medical facility where he died from his wounds.

Later, on Sunday morning, Irving police answered to gunshots being heard on the 10200 block of N. MacArthur Blvd., at approximately 5:30 a.m.

Devairea Smith, 19, was found shot and was taken to the hospital. He died after being hit in the torso.

A fourth person was also shot and killed.

This incident happened in the 3800 block of Altamesa Boulevard, a little after 12 a.m. Officers located a male victim, 17, who was dead upon arrival after being shot at least one time.
