On April 12, a 3-year-old boy from Louisiana was fatally shot. Now, it has been reported that NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal will pay for the child’s funeral expenses.
Devin Page Jr. was sleeping in his bed, on Friday, in Baton Rouge, when he was hit by a stray bullet and died.
Authorities think that a bullet from an exchange of gunfire outside flew into the boy’s room at his home.
An investigation is continuing, and no arrests have been made as of yet.
“I’m sorry for your loss. Me and a pastor friend are going to take care of everything. I’m so sorry,” stated O’Neal who graduated from Louisiana State University.
The boy’s family disclosed that they wanted to move after hearing gunfire for many nights in a row. However, Tye Toliver, the boy’s mother, was told it would cost too much money to move.
“I try to stick it out. Now that I stick it out, this is the outcome of what happened. My son got killed,” she said.
