Tulsa Police officers fatally shot a naked man holding a rifle after the man shot and killed a woman.
Officers responded to reports of a naked man firing a rifle on Monday night. When they arrived they found Dwayne Jackson with a rifle, standing outside of the Crossings at Minshall Park apartment complex.
Rickia Crawford and another woman stood between officers and Jackson, trying to deescalate the situation.
Crawford tells officers not to shoot him and that they would have to shoot her first. Then, in the blink of an eye, Jackson points the rifle at Crawford and shoots her point blank in the chest.
The two officers then opened fire, striking Jackson. Both Jackson and Crawford were taken to a hospital where they were pronounced dead.
Police believe Jackson had been dating Crawford. The other woman at the scene was his mother.
Officials said there were no other injuries and that it is not known yet how many rounds Jackson fired before police arrived, but that numerous shell casings were found at the scene.
Both officers are on paid leave as an investigation into the shooting is underway.
Their names have not been released at this time.
