James “Jamie” Faith was out taking a walk with his wife in Dallas, Texas, on October 9, 2020.

The American Airlines manager was then shot seven times by a masked gunman as his wife, Jennifer, and his dog were beside him.

After an investigation, police learned that Jennifer had gotten acquainted with her high school lover, Darrin Lopez, again. Then, a murder plot was discovered between the two.

“The Plot To Kill Jamie Faith” appeared on ’48 Hours’ on Saturday. As Peter Van Sant, the correspondent, looked into the case, it was discovered that Jennifer Faith received financial and emotional support from her community before she pleaded guilty.

One of the ways that she received help was through a GoFundMe page. Those contributions amounted to more than $60,000. But, police say that Jennifer used the money to shower Lopez with gifts.

Jennifer took out $58,000 from the crowdsourcing money that was provided. She bought a Samsung QLED big screen t.v. for Lopez and bought plane tickets for him and his daughters. She also used the money to pay off credit cards that she had given Lopez permission to use for whatever he needed.

It is noted that Jennifer didn’t pay her husband’s $6,500 funeral bill.

“There are always people in life who will take advantage of someone’s generosity,” stated an attorney, on ’48 Hours.’

“You don’t wanna let yourself believe that someone you care about could do something like that,” expressed Melissa Gonzales, Jennifer’s friend.

GoFundMe has given money back to those who donated to help Jennifer.

Darrin Lopez was apprehended and indicted in Jamie’s murder. He pleaded not guilty, stating that Jennifer convinced him to kill Jamie in the murder scheme.
